Empowering Community Through Compassion and Collaboration Millom and Around The Combe CIC is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families across Millom and surrounding areas. Our mission is to build a compassionate, connected community by working collaboratively with local and countywide organisations to form a strong and responsive support network. Together, we provide vital services to individuals in need of advice, guidance, and practical assistance. At the heart of our work is our community donation shop, which offers gently used clothing, accessories, and home goods at affordable prices. These essential items are also made available free of charge to individuals in crisis or referred through our partner organisations. We were proud to open our second shop in January 2025, (Community Larder) made possible through the generous support of Cumbria Community Foundation, Cumbria County Council, and Social Enterprise Cumbria. This new space will not only provide access to affordable food and household items but will also serve as a welcoming community hub offering resources, information, and support services to those who need them most. Our organisation is entirely volunteer-led, and every pound raised beyond essential running costs is reinvested directly into our work. This commitment ensures that we continue to make a meaningful and lasting impact in our community. We believe that everyone deserves access to support, dignity, and opportunity — and we are proud to stand with our neighbours in making that vision a reality.
